How to Apply for NBI Clearance for Abroad
The NBI Clearance for Abroad Application Process is available online. It is a simple process if you have all the required documents and have a computer/mobile with a stable internet connection.
Step 1: NBI Online Registration
Go to NBI Clearance website @clearance.nbi.gov.ph. Being a first time user, you are required to do NBI online registration before you proceed to NBI Clearance Online Application Process.
Tick the box as NO for “Do you have an NBI Clearance issued from 2014 to present?” and fill up the registration form. You need to verify your email/mobile with an OTP to complete the registration process.
Step 2: NBI Login and Apply for Clearance
If you are an old user or have completed the NBI online registration, you are ready for NBI Login. Go to NBI Clearance website @clearance.nbi.gov.ph and login with your Registered Email and Password.
Thereafter click on Application and fill up the clearance form with your personal information. Click on Save Information button. Finally, click on Apply for Clearance to proceed.
Step 3: Select Travel Abroad As Clearance Purpose
Select your purpose of NBI Clearance as Travel Abroad to continue. If you want to use the NBI Clearance Certificate for travel abroad and other purposes, you should select Multi-purpose option.
Step 4: Provide Two Valid Government IDs
After selecting the clearance purpose, you need to provide details of your two government IDs. Make sure that both the IDs are valid and the IDs meet NBI requirements.
Step 5: Select NBI Branch and Set NBI Appointment Date & Time
Now, you should select the NBI Branch for your NBI Appointment. Thereafter set your NBI Appointment Date and Time as per your convenience. Please choose the date and time slot carefully because you will not be able to update/reschedule NBI appointment later. Then click on Submit button.
Step 6: Save Reference Number and Pay NBI Clearance Fee
Note down your Application Reference Number and choose your fee payment method. Then pay ₱ 155 as NBI Clearance Fee Online or Offline as per your selected method. Save the payment receipt as an evidence of fee payment.
As you complete clearance fee payment, your NBI Appointment will be confirmed.
Step 7: Visit NBI Office to Attend the Appointment
As per your selected date & time, you should visit concerned NBI Branch Office to attend your NBI Appointment. Please carry two valid IDs, Reference Number, Payment Receipt and other required documents to the NBI Office.
Visit the NBI Office 10 minutes before your appointment time. Get help of an NBI service employee to understand the NBI Appointment Process.
Step 8: Register Fingerprint, Signature and Photo
During NBI Appointment, you are required to fill up and submit Form No.5 for fingerprint/biometric data registration. You should also register your signature and get your live photo captured.
Step 9: Get Documents Verified and Collect NBI Clearance
After biometric data and photo capture, the NBI service employee will verify your two government IDs carefully and check your background on the basis of your personal info and biometrics data.
You need to show the letter of invitation from a foreign school/university or company or similar document if the NBI service employee asks for additional documents from you.
On completion of all steps, the service employee may ask you to wait for 10-15 minutes or request you to visit the NBI Office on next day to collect your NBI Clearance for Travel Abroad. Follow their instructions and collect your NBI Clearance Certificate.
Once you have the NBI Clearance, you can use it as a document when applying for residency/work visa or travel visa for a foreign country.
Important Note:
You should apply for NBI Clearance for Abroad at least one month before you want to travel to a foreign country. Because sometimes the NBI Authority takes time to issue the NBI Clearance Certificate.
