NBI Clearance Renewal Online Application and Requirements
National Bureau of Investigation provides NBI Clearance Renewal Online Service to make the renewal process faster. The applicants who have an NBI Clearance issued in 2014 or later, are eligible to apply for NBI Clearance Renewal Online at NBI website.
The applicants whose NBI Clearance was issued before 2014, are not eligible for renewal. They are required to apply online for a New NBI Clearance at NBI website.
The NBI Clearance comes with one year validity. If your clearance certificate is about to expire or already expired, you need to renew your NBI Clearance because an expired clearance is not a valid document anywhere in Philippines.
NBI Clearance Renewal Requirements
In order to apply for NBI Clearance Renewal, you must meet its requirements. The NBI Clearance renewal requirements include some essential documents that you must provide in original to the NBI to renew your clearance.
- Old NBI Clearance Certificate [Must Contain NBI ID Number]
- Two Valid Government IDs
Here I provide the list of Government IDs that are valid documents when you apply for NBI Clearance Renewal in Philippines. The NBI Authority considers following IDs as valid.
- UMID (SSS and GSIS)
- Passport
- PhilHealth ID Card
- Voter’s ID or Certification Of Registration
- BIR TIN
- PRC License
- LTO Driver’s License
- Pag-IBIG ID (Not Loyalty Card)
- Postal ID
- Birth Certificate Authenticated by PSA/NSO
- Certification from Malacanang in Connection with Indigenious Groups, Tribal Membership, Foundling (1) Solo Parent ID
- PNP Clearance Issued By The Police Station where Applicant is a resident of the Station’s Jurisdiction
- Seaman’s Book
- School ID Together With Current Registration Card
- Senior Citizen’s ID
- P.W.D. ID
- Marina ID
- Security License ID (for Security Guards)
When you apply for NBI Clearance Renewal Online, you must have two Government IDs from the list of IDs given above.
NBI Clearance Renewal Online
The National Bureau of Investigation offers NBI Clearance Quick Renewal Process on its website. If you have an NBI Clearance issued from 2014 to present and have the required documents, you can renew your NBI Clearance online with the steps given below.
Step 1: Go to NBI Website
On your computer or mobile, open a web browser and go to the official NBI website @clearance.nbi.gov.ph.
Step 2: Select NBI Clearance Online Renewal
On upper right side of the homepage, find out NBI Clearance Online Renewal option and select Click Here link.
Step 3: Fill Up Online Renewal Form and Verify
An Online Clearance Renewal Form will show up on your screen. You should fill up the form with your personal details such as Your Old NBI ID, Mobile Number, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name and Birth Date.
Make sure that you enter your Old NBI ID, Registered Mobile Number and other personal details correctly in the renewal form. Then click on Verify button to continue.
Step 4: Choose Verification Option and Provide Required Info
Now, you need to verify your identity with one of the verification options offered by the NBI. You can select Mother’s Information or Mobile Number or Email Address to continue verification.
For example: Select Mother’s Information and provide your mother’s full name and her birth place. Thereafter click on Verify button to go to the next step.
Step 5: Select NBI Branch and Payment Method
After identity verification, you need to select your preferred NBI Branch and also choose your desired payment method for NBI Clearance Renewal Fee. Thereafter click on Next/Continue to move to the next step.
Step 6: Save Reference Number and Select Pick-Up or Door-to-Door Delivery
Save your Reference Number and proceed to fee payment.
The NBI offers two options for your NBI Clearance Certificate, you can select Pick-Up option to collect your clearance from the NBI Branch when it is ready for collection.
If you cannot visit the NBI Branch to collect your NBI Clearance then you should select Door-to-Door Delivery option. For this, you need to pay ₱ 200 extra if you live in Metro Malina or ₱ 350 extra if you live outside Metro Malina.
You need to fill up the NBI Clearance Delivery Form Online with your personal details including your Full Name, Mobile Number, Residential Address and other details. Then submit the form to continue.
Step 7: Pay NBI Clearance Renewal Fee Online
Now, you need to make payment of NBI Clearance Renewal Fee to confirm your request for its renewal. If you selected Pick-Up option, you are required to pay ₱ 155 as NBI Clearance Renewal Fee.
If you selected Door-to-Door Delivery option, you are required to pay ₱ 355 or ₱ 505 as NBI Clearance Renewal Fee.
As you pay the fee and the payment process is complete, your request for NBI Clearance Renewal is submitted to the NBI.
Step 8: Collect Your Clearance or Wait for Its Delivery
After successful fee payment, you should wait for the email/SMS from the NBI about your NBI Clearance Renewal Status. The NBI may take minimum 24 hours and maximum 5 working days to process your application and print your NBI Clearance Certificate.
NBI Clearance Pick-Up:
When your NBI Clearance is ready, the NBI will send you an email/SMS to notify that your NBI Clearance is ready to collect from the NBI Branch. Then you can visit the NBI Office to collect your NBI Clearance Certificate.
NBI Clearance Door-to-Door Delivery:
When your NBI Clearance is ready, the NBI will dispatch it through its logistics partner to your residential address. You will receive an email/SMS notification informing about the dispatch of your NBI Clearance and its Tracking Number to track your NBI Clearance Transit Status at relevant delivery partner’s website.
In this way, you can apply for NBI Clearance Renewal Online and either collect it from the NBI Branch or get it delivered at your residence with help of the step-by-step process shared above.
NBI Clearance Renewal Fee
The NBI Authority charges a Clearance Renewal Fee, Service Fee and Delivery Fee from the applicant applying for NBI Clearance Renewal. The NBI Clearance Renewal Fee and Service Fee are mandatory to pay for every applicant, while the Delivery Fee is charged only if the applicant chooses the “Door-to-Door Delivery” option.
When applying for NBI Clearance Renewal Online, you can choose either Pick-Up or Door-to-Door Delivery option at NBI website. Based on your selection, you need to pay the total NBI Clearance Renewal Fee to the NBI.

Who Cannot Apply for NBI Clearance Renewal?
The applicant who does not have an old NBI Clearance cannot apply for its renewal online. In addition, the applicant who has an NBI Clearance issued before 2014, cannot apply for NBI Clearance Renewal Online.
The applicant who has an NBI Clearance issued in 2014 or later but their personal data is changed, cannot apply for NBI Clearance Renewal Online as per NBI Rules. Here, the term personal data refers to applicant’s full name, date of birth, birth place and similar personal information.
The applicants who are not eligible for NBI Clearance Renewal Online, can apply for NBI Clearance as a New Applicant. It requires NBI Online Registration, Online Clearance Application, NBI Appointment Booking, Fee Payment and Visiting an NBI Branch to complete NBI Clearance Online Application Process.
Conclusion
